When life is hard,
how can the body of Christ help one another?
We seem to know intuitively how to reach out when someone faces physical pain or complications, but mental health seems more complex and messy.
These sessions offer opportunities to
- define and understand what someone is dealing with – someone you love, a person within the body of Christ, or yourself.
- discuss ways to help, how to set boundaries when helping, and what to avoid.
- direct our focus to our loving Heavenly Father who welcomes every hurt encountered in this broken world.

Addiction and the Family
Addiction and the Family
Romans 5:5 Hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
- What does "addicted" mean?
- Are there addicts in the Church?
- The addicts just need to stop it, right?
- "Kids are resilient. They'll be fine" ...and other statements of denial in the family.
- What can we do that will help?

Overcommitted and Overfunctioning
Overcommitted and Overfunctioning
Mark 4:39-41 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, "Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?" And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
- Would I still be sick and tired of being sick and tired if my family followed through?
- Why am I always asked to take on things? Can't people see I have enough already?
- Other people really aren't as carefree as they look, right? Life is hard.
- Do you think God has simply called me to serve more than others do? I am needed in so many roles.
